I have been a member of the OTA for a number of years and have had the privilege of serving on the Executive at various times.

I completed my General Certificate at St Vincent’s Hospital Darlinghurst. After completing my General Nursing, I worked for a few years in Emergency at St Vincent’s, but then went off to do my Midwifery at St Margaret’s. After working in Delivery Suite, I saw the light and decided to undertake my Operating Theatre Certificate back at St Vincent’s! Following that, I obtained my Bachelor of Health Management at UNE and my Masters of Health Administration at UNSW.

I am currently employed as Operational Nursing Unit Manager at the Prince of Wales/Sydney Children’s Hospital Operating Suite.

Project Officer, Jenny Cubitt

I am originally from South Australia and did my nursing training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH). I was looking forward to my theatre placement and was not disappointed with my experience. I knew then where my future lay. I completed my Perioperative course at the RAH and stayed on to consolidate my skills. I then moved into the management stream and left the RAH 15yrs later.

I have been in NSW since 1994 and have worked in both the private and public sector in a management role. I completed my Masters in Health Administration at the University of NSW. I have always been a member of the state theatre group as I believe there are many benefits and I would recommend anyone to join and, if you find you have time to be part of the executive. I have bee on various working committees.

My interests outside of nursing include AFL, lead lighting, cross-stitch and gardening.

After consolidating what I had learnt at Prince Henry I moved to a second in Charge position at Balmain Hospital.
